HELP YVONNE FIGHT STAGE 4 CANCER
Yvonne is a veteran of the US Navy, having served her country honorably. Immediately after her military career, she utilized the ‘GI Bill’ provisions to pursue a 2 years degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant Program. She soon discovered she was pregnant with her second son. Due to her tenacity, she never dropped out but persevered and successfully completed the program carrying the pregnancy/baby.
Earnest preparations for the board exam soon took hold of her with the believe that the light is at the end of the tunnel, until she was diagnosed with Umbilical Hernia. Surgery was scheduled but the surgeon felt there was more to it, prompting further tests including: CT/PET Scans, Lymph node and Bone marrow biopsies to confirm Yvonne has a Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), an aggressive type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma (cancer) that develops from the B-cells inthe lymphatic system.
Unfortunately, she’s diagnosed at stage 4 (cancer already in bone marrows) with visible stomach swelling, pain and other associated symptoms.
Yvonne has started chemotherapy last week.
Yvonne volunteers her time working for non-profits and currently serves as the secretary for: Nazareth Healing Complex, Inc. (https://www.nhcomplex.org/) and as Treasurer for: Be a Blessing Mission (http://beablessingm.org/). She’s only 29 years old mother of 2 kids.
Like all of us, she is still positive and wish to recover and go on with life as an
Occupational Therapist Assistant. I have been close to the family and it saddens my heart
to see these dream washed away this way, hence the need to do what I can to help this
family fight this horrible disease with the huge medical and living expenses.
If each person reading this contribute $5, it would highly appreciated and would go long way to solve some of Yvonne's medical burden.
